What is your 700 chambered in and what kind of ammunition are you shooting factory or hand loads? If factory let us know which ammunition you've tried. Plus tell us a little more how the rifle is set up, like scope and mounts, and if you've done an modifications to it like trigger work or bedding?
Oh, and welcome to the fire!

It is chambered in 25-06. the ammo I used is Remington 100 gr. core lokt psp. The scope is a vortex crossfire 4x16x50 or 52. ironsite mounts. This gun is right out of box no mods were made. Also no bedding has been done. all factory. hope this is helpful.

With good handloads, I would bet it will shoot far better.

Pull the barreled action out of the stock, buzz out the speed bumps, bed the lug, yank the trigger and replace it with anything. Toss the scope and iron site mounts, get something with better eye relief. Start hand loading. The rifle will maze you.

If it is a hunter I would try a few more types of ammo, you'll probably find one that shoots 1" If you are interested in true long range shooting, it's best you pick up a good book on reloading, and spend a bunch of time on the reloading forum on this site, and ask questions about what you have read.

rb77, yes, right now and for the near future the reloading supplies are hard to get. I buy what I can, when I can and stock up. I agree with the above posts...Welcome to the 'Fire, try other types of factory ammo...if reloading, bed the action, free float the BBl....etc. I know you will have a great shooting rifle...out to 300/400 yards. Have fun, good luck.
