This thread, along with birdwatchers bike across the Country thread, are simply the coolest things going on around the Campfire this summer.

Thanks for sharing this with us, Dave. I find myself anxieties awaiting each update that you provide.

Hey, thanks for bringing up birdwatchers adventure. Roger posted something on facebook about it, he explained a little about what he was doing and provided a link. I've been meaning to find that post and check it out.

Gonna do that right now.

I think you'll like it.

Much like this thread, it's full of bravery, intrigue, adventure, and really cool people.

Just read through birdy's adventure up to current. Wow, that's quite an undertaking.

Buschpilot, they knocked the forms off this morning and cut some lines. I think they might seal it tomorrow.

Put a good set of wheels under those benches. You can thank me for that later.

Might do just that Arch.

I do have wheels under my welding table which is a 4'x4' top. That's the one that will see all the rough work.

Yes, they should have sealed it when they pulled the forms off. Actually, they could/should have done it last night when they finished with the surface finishing.

They should use an "Ag" type sprayer or bug-sprayer at about 150sf/gallon of curing compound...or what the manufacturer recommends.

Dave- Congrats on getting your business going. It looks like they did a good job on your slab.

Just curious, but is there any particular reason you went with wood framing instead of steel?

That's interesting. Down here in hillbilly country there's not much of a cost difference. If anything, steel is slightly cheaper.

Easier to insulate properly with wood.

Yes, the curing compound should have been done already.

Trouble with my slab. The finish is messed up. It's very patchy with loose flaky areas.

I'm pretty sick about it.

Concrete guys are coming to look tomorrow. I sent them pictures already.

I just really didn't need another setback.

This sucks so bad.
