Tonight we rocked the greatest Sammy to ever be invented. The BLT

We started with Nueskes Hillsdale Applewood smoked bacon. I was up state last weekend and they were having a sale on 5 pound packages so I picked up a few. This is simply the best bacon in the free (and oppressed) world. My brothers used to work there during the winter months each year. They were paid in bacon. (no joke). This bacon is cut super thick and is smoked to perfection.

The lettuce, Meh, its only there for the crunch. You dont want to do anything that is going to overpower the taste of the bacon and Miracle Whip. Iceberg is just fine. Its just crunch.

You will need THINNLY SLICED tomato.

Now here is where some people make a rookie mistake. They will use white bread WRONG!
You will want to use a split top whole wheat and toast it lightly. (your welcome) grin

Now the order of assembly is important so youre going to want to pay attention because this affects you.
Naturally you will want an ample amount of that tangy zip of Miracle Whip on both slices (that goes without saying) Dont be a rube and settle for gooey mayo. Then you must put the bacon and the lettuce against the bread with the Tomato in the center. To do it any other way would be a mistake. DO NOT cut the sandwich. (another mistake rookies will make)

There you have it. The definitive BLT with Miracle whip Sammy. I think this thread calls for a sticky. grin

Good point. Mayo is really wrong for this sandwich. I agree. There must have been something you did good today that has earned you that tangy zip of Miracle Whip. Treat yourself. grin

That's the correct order of assembly BUT - tomatoes should be thick sliced and white bread is perfectly acceptable, especially when homemade bread is used.

I find thick sliced tomatoes tend to get pulled out (slide out during the bite) and thin ones do not.

you are correct IF its homemade bread since homemade anything is better than store bought.

You would be correct. I'll bet the copious number of images of that Miracle Whip jar was your first tip off. crazy

Why would a person ruin a great sandwich with the flavorless glop that is mayo? Who does that? Smart BLT makers use that tangy zip. The point being, why settle for a so-so sammie with mayo when a great sammie is there for the taking by using MW?

Treat yourself. Dont settle for low quality and sub standard mayo on your sammies. You must have done something good today worthy of treating yourself to Miracle Whip. Do yourself a favor. Your welcome. grin

I searched for your BLT thread but it seems you arent up to the task. Thankfully somebody was and he NAILED IT. Dont feel bad, this format is not for everybody.
