"Bullying" has it's good points. Tends to keep the "special snowflakes" from getting too far out of the norm. Peer pressure, of a sort. Now we need laws to enforce acceptable behavior? The libs are winning. It's actually only recently that such laws are being challenged, as they had been the norm all along. This recent passage of a law against having your pants down in public was a bit of a challenge to the more recent trend of tearing such laws down. The tearing down of these types of laws, by the way, was one of the central goals of the Communists for the United States. Communist Goals For Operatives In The United States:Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks. Gain control of all student newspapers. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms." Control art critics and directors of art museums. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch." Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state." Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man." Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture."

You oughta see what chicks are wearing on the beach...or what they ain't wearin'. What they are wearing doesn't cover much. Not all that long ago I saw a woman in her early 30's walking in a So Cal beach parking lot wearing just about nothing. Now if she had to go to her car to retrieve something she had forgotten, she could have easily put on one of those robe things that women wear on the beach to cover up. She was trolling for rich men.
A year ago a woman I used to date showed me photos of her then 21 year old daughter on a beach with her friends. My ex-g/f is well-endowed. So is her daughter. The bikini the kid had on was ridiculous. She might as well had been naked. Her friends and she seem to have been in a contest to see who could reveal the most. I asked my ex if she had talked with her kid, who graduated from a Catholic college, about not only walking around virtually naked but then posting her virtually naked pics on social media sites. She said she did. She told that her kid would prefer to sunbathe nude if she could. I told her that were she my kid, I'd of kicked her ass.
BTW, my ex told me that when she was a kid her dad prevented her from wearing a very revealing bikini she bought. She was always well-endowed and it sure seems like when women have big ones that want to show 'em off. Anyway she put on the one that was acceptable to her dad & put the sexy one in her beach bag. When she got to the beach, she changed bikinis. When she left the beach, she changed again.
A few years ago my ex-g/f was upset because she found condoms in her daughter's room. I didn't say much other than she might want to look at it from the angle that she's smart enough to make whomever she's having sex with to put them on.
I guess it's a whole different generation. With the Internet, TV, MTV, and film, kids don't seem to think nudity is that big a deal.
Anyway, the point is it ain't just male morons showing their asses. But I ain't complaining when women on beaches show theirs.

Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

I happen to be a fan of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The baggy pants law is at least as abhorrent as the baggy pants. Where do you draw the line? What about wacking off in front of your local school? Freedom of expression? Pursuit of happiness? Twisting the original intent of the Declaration Of Independence could be used to justify just about ANY "abhorrent" behavior... +1

TRH,
When I was in high school our school library had a book about drug addiction, published in the 1930's. One section supposedly proved how chewing gum "habitually" led to cigarette smoking, which led to drinking deer, which led to marijuana smoking, which led to death from cocaine or heroin addiction.
Got any research like that on wearing your pants too low for local standards? Does showing any part of your underwear lead to perverted sex or, worse yet, hunting deer with a .270 Winchester?

TRH, I'm pretty tired of seeing young "men" with their saggy pants, and especially when they try to ride bikes. It's so stupid. However, a law against it will just keep police officers focused on petty stuff and they won't be able to take care of the real criminals. Is this the way you want your tax dollars spent? On a positive note, If the police do need to arrest one of the saggy pants for a real crime, they have a great advantage for on- foot pursuits.

Hawkeye, this law about showing your underwear. Does that include women who let their bra straps hang out the armholes of a sleeveless top?
That is so tacky. And I notice it started happening in Florida right about the time that the Communists took over.

Just watch an average episode of Cops. They chase down guys running with one hand on their pants and soon to be tased all the time!

Is their bare a$$ showing TRH...? Good grief...you spout off about the wrongs of government intrusion into our everyday lives...and many here agree with you on those points. And then you want the government to be able to tell us 'how and how not' to wear our clothes...!?!?

On every So Cal beach of which I'm aware, it is illegal for a woman to wear a bikini that reveals any part of her butt or that reveals any breast area below the top of the nipples. Nor is it legal to reveal pubic hair. Go to just about any So Cal beach on a hot day and you'll see all three. I saw a woman who was wearing a wet bikini on Aliso Beach. Her pubic hair was clearly visible through her wet bikini bottom. I'm sure that she knew exactly what she was showing. And if a woman is wearing a tiny bikini and forgets to shave her bikini line for a few days, she could be cited for public display of pubic hair. I've never known anyone cited for such violations, but if they were extreme, I'm sure they would be cited. There used to be a nude beach at San Onofre State Beach. In CA, public nudity is always illegal. However, for many years, public nudity laws were not enforced on San Onofre. A few years ago, state park rangers shut it down and began issuing citations. I do not think public nudity should be legal where kids are. However, I'd be good with a nude beach if it were secluded and kids were not present. But if kids are on the beach, nudity should not be allowed. Anyway, with bikinis some women are wearing on beaches now, they might as well wear nothing. My friend called me this afternoon. He was on a South OC beach. He told me that I ought to come down because there were a lot of tiny bikinis on the beach. I watched Angels baseball instead and then worked out. BTW, the problem with a woman who has half of her butt hanging out of her bikini and is cited for California Penal Code Section 314.1 is that they could be ordered to register as sex offenders. To me, that's extreme.

Sounds like "pants on the ground" is helpful to law enforcement!

I see no problem with local communities instituting in their ordinances their standards based on local majority values.

Yes, and I remember Jefferson and other framers specifically mentioning sagging pants, funny hats and other subversive "acts of clothing" that should be locally regulated.
You're remarkably consistent, since you keep insisting on less regulation, while insisting on more. I take it you're trying to miss the point about such ordinances being only local in nature. This is called decentralization of government. Conservatives aren't against government. We're only against consolidated government, i.e., the governance of everything coming down to us all from on high in DC. We prefer that most governance of our daily lives be local, or at most state level, since that will ensure the highest possible number of people satisfied with the laws under which they must live. If you cannot change the local ordinances to your liking (or at least make them tolerable to your sensibilities), you always have the option of moving to, for example, a less "prudish" town or a more "prudish" town. Again, an old Jeffersonian concept of good government that has historically been a hallmark of American conservatism. Gotta' give you a thumbs-up on your thoughts sir.

I'd like to see TRH's response when this law is used as a precursor to a terry stop and an individual is found to be in possession of an illegal firearm, or narcotics
