Looking to take my nephew on a snow goose/duck hunt in January. Can anyone recommend a guide in this area.
Also considered doing a hunt around Stuttgart, AR if anyone has any input on guides there. Realize that is mostly ducks though.

I used to hunt around Katy a lot back in the late 80s/early 90s. I lived out there and guided while going to school. It was good back then. I was driving through there this January and the place in literally covered in houses. Most of the rice fields are now subdivisions. If it were me, I would look more out toward the Eagle Lake area if I was dead set on goose hunting in the Houston area.
Can't help with guide contacts either. Most of the folks I knew back then aren't around anymore.
Personally, I'd look toward Arkansas/ Louisiana for waterfowl hunting if it were me.

For goose hunting in Texas, I'd look around either the Eagle Lake/ Victoria area, or the Playa lakes in the Northwest.
Hope it works out for you.

If you don't want to drive that far you can shoot the hell out of them in the spring around St. Joe Missouri.

I live in of those subdivisions... Agreed on Eagle Lake for goose hunting, ducks I'd be in Arkansas personally - doesn't have to be Stuttgart, that is just the most popular place that everyone knows. Anywhere from Stuttgart north and east for the most part... This is one of my buddy's brothers - http://www.waterfowloutfittersunlimited.com, no stake in it, just the only one I personally know.

I can't speak to the guides but there are lots of Snow geese around Stuttgart, Arkansas. miles
Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.
