What range are your hunting rifles sighted in at? I'd like to collect some data, and start a discussion about MPBR. Who's first?

I like to sight in at 200 yards, which will usually get me to +-3" out to 300-350 yards.

My hunting rifles are sighted in to hit 2 1/2" high at 100yds. That way I can hit reliably as far as that rifle should be used for the game at which it should be used.

I'm not one of those guys that needs (wants) to stretch the barrel to all ends. I want to drop the animal with the least amount of drama possible. I owe it to the game that will give it's life to me.
Have fun,

Most of my deer/ hog rifles are 1.5 to 2 high at 100. I don't consider myself a long range shooter by any means. I have a few woods rifles sighted at .5 @ 100yrds.

I sight in dead on at 200 yds. Most of my rifles, that puts me between 1 and 1 1/2 inch high at 100 yards, which is close to the maximum height the bullet gets. The exception is slower rifles like a 30-30, which I sight in dead on at 100 yds and use the guess method on longer shots, which I limit with those rifles. miles

Iron sights are dead nuts on at 75 yards.

The majority of the scope rifles are dead nuts on whatever range I use them at.

I should add that I do not shoot at game animals beyond 250 yards without some viable way to know their distance from me. I do not have a gadget so if they are not near something known, like a tree or fence where I know the distance, the bullet drop vs distance is too critical for me. miles

.35 Rem and 45/70 are 1/2" high at 50 yards.

Everything else is 1" high at 100 yards. There is pretty much zero chance I will ever get a shot over 200 yards.

1 inch high at 100 for centerfire, woods hunting around here and a 200 yard shot is a very rare thing

I sight in for a 250yd zero using a target at 200yds. Depending upon the caliber, bullet and load this puts my POI between 2" to 2" high at 200yds. Using a PBRR of 3" my PBR is between 315yds to 350yds.

My main target is set at 120 yards.

I typically use ballistic plex reticles (Burris) so then I check and see where the other lines are at. I can set up auxillary targets out to 400+/-

Usually 200 yds, I am fond of the Leupold dots so I typically zero at 200 and bang away at 300 and 400 yds with the dots for fun and practice. The vast majority of the things I kill are at less than 200 yds, usually a lot less so practice at 300 and 400 hundred leaves me feeling like the closer things are cake.

I also have some shorter range rifles a win 94/30.30(receiver sight) a marlin 94/44mag ( fastfire) that I zero at 100yds.

I sight in at 100 yds and use a Burris Ballistic Plex reticle on my 30-06. I have aiming points for 200, 300, 400 & 500 yards, but I don't usually shoot at over 300 yards, and usually most of my shooting is at 200 yards or less.

Being limited to a 100 yard range, I set most of mine for 2.75" high at 100 with the exception of two rifles that are limited to taking 100 yard shots only. Those two are for my grandson to use.

I sight-in to be dead-on at 200 yds.

Depends upon the terrain I'm hunting. Most often here in Michigan, I'll be hunting the cedar swamps where a shot to 75 yards would be very rare. I sight in mostly dead on at 50 yards and don't worry as much about shooting through holes and twigs.

When presented with a hunting area to reach out a bit, my sight in range is then determined by bullet and speed. I'll consult a reloading manual and sight in per recommendation of the load I'll be using.

Dead on at 200 unless it's a flatter shooting round like 270 or 300RUM, then it's 250 or 300.
For iron sights 100.

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

Sight in range for a non-turreted Kentucky hold on air rifle?
