There are a lot more lever 22s on the market than I thought. Is the basic Henry the lowest cost?

Welcome to the fire.
The Rimfire Henry's are a good deal.
If you can find a Marlin or Winchester, that would be sweet.
Gun Shows are almost as comical as boat ramps in the Spring.

I've heard lots of good reports on the Henry's, but I haven't first hand knowledge. Here's a Marlin 56 I love to show off.

had a Henry lever for the kids, great value for the dollar BUT not even close to the same league as a Marlin 39A. that being said if a guy was on a budget and bought a Henry I don't think you would be disappointed for the price. in fact I think i'll end up getting one in 22 mag one day.
Help keep our sport going. take a kid outdoors!
