I am sure you never even thought of doing this, but if you did want to pick up a live porcupine, this is how you do it...

I always just rolled them up in a carhartt coat....Pick out the quills later.....

I spent some time with JonS last week and have come to understand you a little better. Someday we will have to try the different ways of catching critters and see who has the most fun...

The ones I caught were for some hunters from texas. They had never seen the likes before, and wanted a couple to take home with them. The idea was to breed them to armadillos, and eventually have an income from selling the pork-a-dillo pups to pet shops. I never did hear how that all panned out.....
