Hello, I will be buying my first preference point this year for wyoming for an elk hunt. Looking to hopefully draw a tag in a good area in 4 years or so. I have elk hunted Colorado before but want to try something new. I am interested in the areas in the northwestern part of the state, I know there are grizzlies in some of those areas but what would be a good area for a decent archery hunt? While I am waiting for points to build I would like to mix in a general tag for areas that don't need points, how is the western part of that state for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated, just trying to get a few areas I can start to look into a little more. Thanks

Eastman's hunting does a good write-up on the good areas in the northwest. A subscription is not much and can supply you a good starting point for your research. There are some real good areas there, and grizzlies are definitely an issue to be aware of for archery season. That is why I hunt late cow hunts!

I know there are grizzlies in the area, how many roam around up there? Do the areas along the west side of the state have grizzlies as well?
