That's actually good...

It gives you time to locate some of those pesky 178 A-max that you will end up with anyway.

The 155 "SeeKnars"are what I send down the barrel of my 308 win.

Scenars are a tough act to follow but a hair better BC with the 178 ends up being 100fps difference at range.

Between the SeekNards and the A-Max...?

Two winners here...choice depending on if you are looking for penetration or expansion...

I shoot them both but generally I want some expansion so I like the terminal characteristics of the A-Max better.

Ordered some of those 178 Amax's from butches. Will give them a run in the 308 win. Have you a favorite load?

/start[merunningmydrunkmouth] I think you should run the 208 (Freddie Mercury to the Max)...Especially if you are going to try some subs. Of course, I don't know much about this .30 cal world. I just know, if they are good enough for MM, they are good enough for me. If I can't the the 190 eNABLR's to shoot, that is what I will run /end[merunningmydrunkmouth]

Which ones? I see they have a regular and an "L" version.

I have the 208's to try. But two things that will keep me from buying more:

1.) If they don't stabilize when sub-sonic.

2.) If I can't get them to group when seated out no further than mag length.

I need my repeater to be able to repeat...

Most likely have both. L = newest generation and bought some 2 months ago but will check when I get home. After going to Third Generations site I see I bought regular scenar's. And so that's what I've been shooting.

Not really, it depends on the rifle, and brass.

I find a load that groups well around a target velocity window of 2650-2750fps in a 20" bbl. Varget, 4064, and 4895 are comparable in the 308 case in that bullet weight. Fed 210M primer. Around 43-45gr Varget is in the ballpark in Win brass...it has the most space internally, and the actual charge weight varies with different brass.

Thanks,

Use Varget with my 155's and have plenty of it and those others in my reloading room already.

In thin WW brass it was 45 grains of Varget under a 178 Amax for me.
