I have a 1960 Savage Model 99 F .308 that has a numbers matching Stock but the stock is very very unique .. It's a hand cut checkering stock but it's got a different schnable tip in forstock and there is sterling silver Diamond shaped inlays in both the butt stock and for stock .. I'm a machinist and a carpenter for 18 years and I can tell you that this was not something that was done in somebody's garage ! This is done with top quality craftsmanship ! Has anyone seen anything like this before ? This gun is absolutely gorgeous 99 ! It's spotless condition ! Like new ! Can anyone help ! I have detailed pics but could not figure out how to add them ! I'm new .. there are other diamond inlays on front and bottom of forstock and top of butt stock ...thanks for any help

There have always been some very talented stock makers around, and sounds like yours is the product of one of them. Seen plenty of "customized" 99 stocks with diamond enlays, or ebony tips on the forearm, or <fill in the blank>.
Sounds like you got a good one, would like to see pics. Easiest way to display pictures is to get a free photobucket account, load them up there, then copy the link here and we'll be able to see it.

There is a "Sticky" at the beginning of tis forum called Misc Good Info. It is loaded with good information. It explains the process for uploading pictures. This sounds like a very interesting rifle. Good luck in posting pics and Welcome to the CF

Your album is marked as private, so we can't see the pics.

I would post the pictures unless you want the whole world searching through your entire photobucket album

When in photobucket, you should see 4 boxes holding links to share the photo. They will be labelled things like "Email & IM", "Direct", "HTML" and "IMG".
Click the box next to the one labelled "IMG" and it should copy the picture link into memory.
Come here in a post and past the link. The picture should now display.
There are other ways, but that's the "photobucket" way.

Yep, somebody went to town on the factory 99F stock and redesigned it for their taste. Seen much worse. Maybe they wanted the schnabel tip on the forearm like the older Savage 1899's and 99's had, but which weren't being sold any more in 1960 on new guns.

Finally I got it .. Lol here are a few pics . I checked lever boss code it's a 1960 and on the barrel it says Savage 99 F . I checked the stock and forstock and the numbers match . The Bore on this 99 is perfect Deep Rifling Like glass .. What do you think a 99 like this would be worth ?

Yes, I agree this is very much a remodeled factory 99 F, with Diamond inlay in the butt stock and the forearm reshaped with a Snouble and inlay. Nicely done, but not factory.
