For all the experienced Africa hunters and taxidermist on here. Pertaining to Namibia only, as it may differ with other countries, what is done to the skins over there if anything besides salting and dip and pack? Are they shaved down over there or by the tannery/taxidermist over here.
Skins from my first trip in 09 were shipped directly to me and I personally delivered them to a tannery. The skins as I received them were too stiff for me to unfold and examine but they looked like they were just salted. I'm trying to determine where the shaving takes place.
Thanks

Been to Zim and SA twice. As far as I can tell, they salt, dip, pack and crate for shipment to the US or your home country

Just plains game. The onlything that was restricted to a USDA licencee was the warthog skull but since it was mounted over there it could come directly to me. I'm just trying to find out where the hide shving is done
