I think that smarquez said it pretty well, in that the bothersome ones can't act like that in public - they'd be shunned. But here they can be more than the sum of their actual parts. I'd guess that they aren't married (who'd tolerate them) and never were successful in team sports (again, who'd tolerate them). That would lead to a big feeling of inadequacy, hence the cry for attention.

We have a bunch like that. It comes with the territory here. On the up side, though, since the moderator doesn't exercise much power in that regard, you don't find the corruptions of power typical at most discussion forums.

I imagine the guy actually has some valuable knowledge to share if he chose to write complete sentences and treat members with a little respect.

He's mellowed in his old age, but still gives his best effort to entertain his fans.

I do not know Rick personally but from his actions and his posts on here I can assume he is a true believer in the Constitution and he practices what he believes in.

I have found that many folks here believe in the "practice what you preach" principle, I like those folks, the others not so much.

I got here in 2003 as Bart185 and he was a big part of the Campfire then. The things he's done with Remington rifles amazed me enough to do some of the things he did and I got results.
His pics of his family,dead critters,and Alaska were amazing.
Y'all only know what he lets you know now. Back then,he was different.
I think that the advice that he gave the most was "Break Bones".
He was the first guy I ever saw that could make the original Barnes X-Bullets shoot clover leaf groups.
