A friend gave me some .277 Nosler 150 ABLR to try out. The gun is a factory Rem 700 with 24 inch tube that is a real shooter. Before I start from scratch, anyone care to share their loading experiences with this bullet in a .270 Win? As always, thanks for the replys.

Just read some very negative reports on this bullet for big game and decided not to spend the time messing with these.

Slammer, if you want a good general purpose Colorado hunting bullet for the 270, the 140gr Accubond is hard to beat. It has a thicker jacket then the LRAB and is designed for common hunting distances. If, at some point you choose to build a dedicated long range canyon shooter, then it's time to give the LRAB's a try.

I've had excellent luck with H4831sc, Win brass and CCI 200 primers behind this bullet.

Nothing remarkable here; but 56-59g of H4831SC with a standard LR primer has given me great accuracy with every 150g bullet I've tried in the 270 Win.

That's where I'd go with the LRAB; and I intend to do just that when I get through the 500 150g SSTs I'm presently shooting out of my current 270.

Will be using this bullet for elk in October. IMR 4831 Federal cases and winchester primers. Think your going to wind them up pretty tight for the group to close. At least that is my experience. What ever powder you use start low and work up. Nosler has a QL on a bunch of powders for this bullet.

Would not pay too much attention to negative comments. There are negative comments on most everything. For instance some say a 270 win is not enough gun for elk. But, i know from experience they work well. Bullet placement is THE most important. Good hunting and be safe.
