What harm would it do if I trim my cases for my 350 mag a tad shorter then book specs. My reason would be to get the case mouth back behind the ojive of the bullet. I would be keeping coal the same however.

You will just burn the throat a little further back. That said, I have seen plenty of new factory brass that was up to .005-.006" shy of trim-to length. Me personally, I try to go no shorter than the book says. Just me............

I never don't not trim shy.
Form Virgins,size in accordance...then trim.
With bushings, that'll be the last trim needed.
Hint...............

Trim to length is a suggestion.
I trim mine to the short side as well.

I would go by bullet mfg. recommendations. Hornady bullets with cannelure require shorter than say a nosler with no cannelure. kapeesh? At any rate i think you will be behind the ogive.
Do as I say do, not as I do!

I trim my cases to a uniform dimension, if that happens to be .005 below minimum then so be it. As far as burning the throat with that little shortening, that's nonsense wouldn't even give that notion any consideration what so ever.
