Does anyone have any rifles/rifle projects that you don't need or shoot? I've found myself questioning my own sanity when it comes to rifles. I have 5 milsurp projects that I bought to suit various hunting needs only to find that I already had those needs filled by other, complete rifles. I am wondering how many other hunters and shooters have this same problem.

Yep, I'm thinning the herd. You only need so many. I'm going to sell of a few hunting rifles and scopes and build my daughters an AR each, and buy a few pistols.

When the SHTF day comes, don't be the dipschidt with a dozen Savage 99's, six over and unders and no AR

I've got 4 Mausers and a Type 99 Arisaka in 30.06. But all my hunting needs are covered with my 300 Win Mag, 300 Savage, 30.06, and .270 Win. Not to mention the 270 Weatherby that always accompanies me as a backup rifle.

Isn't "unnecessary rifles" an oxymoron?

Now if that is changed to "potential sources of revenue for acquiring other rifles" - I have several in that category...

I have been trying hard to move out the "unnecessary" ones for the last couple of years, but the safe is still full...

Mine started out as selling those "unnecessary rifles" and turned into "potential sources of revenue for acquiring other rifles".

How the heck does that happen anyway?.........sheesh.

I look at it as I am refining my toolbox as my knowledge grows and my needs change.

Individuals here have helped me to that end.

I've often asked myself just how many different deer caliber rifles does one person need? The usual answer is, "Just one more".
