Any firsthand experience with these? Discounts on them right now, I need a decent LRF but don't want to throw good money at the bad.
I like Leupod stuff, but I have read these are made in China, which doesn't inspire confidence.

I've been using the 1000i DNA for almost 2 years. I have no problems with it, it ranges game animals out to 800'ish, the red LED is great in any light, and it is lightning fast. My Leica 1200 had a touch better glass, but wouldn't range as well. Leupy's glass is good enough.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

I have one coming, sale was too good to pass up. All reports I've heard say it's a good one. Heavy discounts usually indicate a new or updated model coming out. I wonder what's on the horizon?

They have a 1200i out, or maybe ready to come out. I never liked any Leupold RF's until the 1000I came along. It's been a dandy so far.

The TBR model is $50 more than the plain rx-1000, is it a useful feature or gimmick?
Reading on the TBR it sounds like it may be kinda like a generic BDC reticle, in that it's pretty one size fits all.

I've been happy with my Leopold 1000, but I noticed that if it gets really cold (below 20 degrees) it impacts the battery and won't read. Warmed it up by putting it close to my skin for a little bit and it worked fine again. Maybe they all do that if the battery gets too cold. Also, mine would range out to around 700 yards in those conditions, occasionally a little further.

Generally positive feedback so far.
It would seem the discounts are closeout pricing because they are being discontinued. From the reviews/comments I'm reading I think the Leupy likely to be just as good as other low to mid level LRFs.
So I'm considering snagging the Leupy at $100 off, or holding out for a Leica for about 2x the money.

I bought one at the discounted price and have been playing with it for a couple of weeks now. It's easy to set up, quick to range and the TBR has a few options that group several calibers and bullets together. I set mine up using the group that included my 338 WM and it told me at 672 with no up or down angle that I needed to aim 57 inches high. Now I haven't sat down to see if that's accurate or not and I'll never shoot anything out that far but it's danged quick at figuring range even if that's all I use it for.

Jumped on the same deal. Plenty of good reviews around, and half the price of the Leica. Plus, I can't stomach the Leica warranty work on anything. Too many horror stories for me to "chance it" with that kind of money.

I may do the same tomorrow. At regular price I'd hold out for the Leica probably, but for 1/2 price the Leupy will probably do all I need it to. Did you do the TBR model?
I have been eyeing a Bushnell ARC 1300 also, but I have never messed with any bushnell products so I don't know there.

Went ahead and ordered the Leupy from Midway, hopefully it doesn't suck.
Thanks for the replies
