If you don't mind us asking, why was the rifle sent back to Kimber? Can you furnish an approximate serial number? Thank you!

serial number is kw146**
I sent back because when I bough the rifle I wanted t use 130 grain rounds to use for white ail and come to find out the Kimber rifles in 270WSM like heavier bullets, they want the 140 to 150 grain. I already have a 7MM WSM that handles the heavier 140 to 160 grain rounds so don't need two rifles shooting basically the same rounds.
The test target sent back with rifle is 150 grain, 2 in one hole and one out.

Ok, so I'm dizzy now...

Did Kimber make a repair to the rifle or change the barrel to a different twist for you?

Thanks,

Dear Dizzy, no they did not repair or change the barrel to a different twist for me. I guess when Kimber sells a rifle you get what you bought, I should have looked into better and asked more questions as to what weight bullets they recommend for what rifle. I have owned a number of 270's and was always under the understanding that a 270 was as good as can be for a 130 grain bullet, well not the case for Kimber or should I say 270WSM?

How many 130 grain "rounds" did you try before concluding that this rifle only liked heavier bullets?

Don't take offense as it certainly was not intended.

I was just unclear for the reason for the return trip to Kimber and what was done there to cure the problem.

None taken, As far as a cure from Kimber I guess there was none, they just sent rifle back with a target with 150 grain rounds shot on it and dated.

I apologize myself please forgive my shortness...My excuse is I just had back surgery on Friday and then having questions asked to me about serial number then model number etc. I had to open safe and lift out rifle which is not heavy under normal circumstances but after surgery seems to be very heavy.
