Finally got a chance to try the 62 gr tsx out of the RAR 22/250.
Only loaded six in case I had to pull them, but the first three went into about 3/4 in.
Just tried the lowest load I could find of IMR 4895,seated to the max COL. Should be about 3300 fps,no signs of keyholeing ,so the 10" twist is at least adequate.
Pics later when not on my phone.

I shoot them at 3400fps in a 21" 223AI.

Actually,multiple 21" 223AI's.

Hint................

One wonders if one could AI the American 22/250 and have it feed through the magazine. 223 also for that matter....

there was some question whether the 62gr would work out of a 1-10 twist.barnes says it requires a 1-9 twist.

there is no info for this bullet in the barnes manual for the 22-250,IIRC,due to COAL consideration.
IIRC I loaded them to 2.3257,slightly over Max COAL,which IIRC,is 2.325

Now with those questions beginning to be answered,I can get on further down the line.
by the way,the 62 gr tsx shot through the 8" ash tree the target is attached to.

You are not going to get an off the rack 1:8 22-250 anyway..
A 1:10 off the rack 22-250 is about as good as it gets and a 62 TSX is nothing sneeze at for deer and other similar sized game..

For the most part about the only time you need a high zoot BC .22 cal bullet is shooting paper, steel, rocks, gophers, coyotes, wolves, and seals at long range..

Right squirrel boy?

Hopefully,my son will get a nice buck with it this year.
Last year he got a nice doe with a 53 tsx in this same rifle, but I loaded all the rest of those I had in 223 brass, then sold the rifle, wanting one with a faster twist barrel.

Weight has no bearing...it's length.

Requisite RPM is a function of twist and velocity.

You may get away with a 53,depending on your ACTUAL twist and velocity...............

I know length is the issue and mono-metals are long for weight compared to lead.

I have Barnes 50's and 53's, haven't tried either in my slow twist .22-250. May have to load both just to see how they perform.

We encounter hogs from time to time and the .22-250 is a great hog killer with most bullets, makes a great truck gun. I like the idea of using Barnes on hogs.

Added to say, I've tried speed to help stabilize marginal twists. Twist trumps speed, IME. Speed helps, but can do just so much.
