There's no shortage of books to read about hunting Africa - it's a niche in the literary and the outdoor world all its own.
I'm wondering tho if someone could recommend books about hunting Alaska? Not necessarily 'how to' books but stories and the like of the glory days of AK hunting as I imagine them to be back in the 20's - 50's or some such thing?

Remembered another one:
Alaska's Bear Hunting Judge, by Richard Folta and Judge Robert Boochever--who started hunting brown bears with a semiauto .35 Remington, eventually moving up to a Garand.

Once you've identified the books and authors, go to achive.org and search for them. Many old time writers such as S.E. White, Baker, and Keneth Anderson can be found there for free. The Kindle won't allow direct downloads, but iPads will. For the Kindle you will have to use your computer and then transfer it to the Kindle. They have multiple formats such as PDF, Kindle, plain text, etc. so anybody can play.
I picked up four Anderson books there a few days back. Sometimes the digitizing is a little crude, but hey, it's free. They also have tons of audio books, Old Time Radio, and even recordings of live music performances; even some by people you may have heard of!
What fresh Hell is this?
