In southeast Alaska wood is a huge disadvantage. If you ever hunted elsewhere you may learn a thing or two and understand wood works fine and has for a long time.
Maybe you should get off the couch? Hell they even have other animals, climates.... in your home state. Maybe you could even bag a sheep? you seem fascinated with them lately?
