Bought some green cob media from Lyman's, because I couldn't find the regular cob media. I've read where people didn't like the treated green media because of the finish it leaves. Not sure I can agree with that. I thought it did a fine job, however I just want clean brass, not particularly interested whether or not it has a high luster finish.

Looks good to me.

That looks pretty good to me!

To save some money, I went to Pet Zoo and purchased a big bag of crushed walnut shells that was intended for a lizard terrarium. The luster and cleanliness were the same as the crushed cob I was using. Though w/ the smaller media of the walnut shells, I dont have to poke out any that gets wedged in the primer hole like the cob I was using.

That's what I hate about cob media. I never seem to be able to find anything other than the crushed cob. Might have to check out pet smart next time I'm in town, but that will be a while down the road. I have half jug of cob media left.

I use fine walnut that is used for LCM in oil-field mud. It never plugs flash-holes.

I've used rice in the past because I've found that it produces much less dust than corn cob or walnut. Also, it doesn't seem to get stuck in the primer flashholes.

I've been a SS convert for quite a while now, though. No dust at all!

An ice pick works good to clean out flash holes.

fore the cases that I get media stuck in the flash holes, depending on how many I have... I either use one of my universal depriming dies in the press, or if only a couple, I just use a depriming spindle I spun out of the decapping die..

I just straighten out a paper clip to clean out the flash holes.

What I intend to do once I have space to get the reloading gear set up again.
