I just picked up a bunch of new 270 Weatherby brass at a yard sale. My question is can I make 257 Weatherby brass out of it by running it through my 257 die ? Thanks!

I know you can make .257 Wby cases out of .264WM and 7RM brass.

So, it should work. Just not sure about finished case length, if it would need trimming.

Forgot to add, get some Imperial Die Wax. Much better with case forming operations than case lube. And, one trip thru the .257 FL die should do the trick.

Yep, this is how I got my first batch of 270 Weatherby brass, reformed 257 by running it through my 270 Weatherby die. In essence, you're just resizing the neck.

Cheers.
