You are gonna love it. I got my 556 18" OBR this summer. They are truly a GREAT piece of workmanship.

Well...I'd love to hear if it was worth the coin and the wait. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

LaRue started making their own barrels in house as Mark is an anal accuracy nut. I mean that in the most positive way. During the time he was getting the barrel making process refined, the finished rifles were not going out the door. Combine this with the increased orders in the end of 2012 due to the political climate, orders were taking ~18+ months before being filled. I can honestly say that the barrels being produced by LaRue and the AR's they are being used on are among the best of the best. They furnish a test target with all their rifles. You can go to their website and view sample targets shot each week. When you have AR's that are hovering around the .1-.2" group size, it's not just the shooter. I can honestly say I have a LaRue OBR that is capable of grouping better that I can. Attention to details, fit and finish on the remainder of the rifle is as good as the quality of the barrel.

You mean he finally realized that he was rejecting too many Lothar barrels and it was time to move up to a quality barrel one way or the other? ARs, especially the big ones shooting in .1 and .2s is flat good and amazing especially at distance. Thats shooting half inch to 1 inch group by my rough fast math at 500 yards. Any AR that will shoot under an inch at 500 is a hell of an AR.

Looks like what I expect out of my gunsmith, but for somewhat less coin since he doesn't think as much of his last name. LOL.
Nice shooting.
