So I was going out try shooting some steel and my son that is now 10 years old wanted to join me. So I set my steel plate at 400 yards and got the bench set up for him. His gun is a sako 85 finnlite 7-08 with a vx-2 3-9 non cds. Hand loads are 120 ttsx @3210 fps. I used the Hornady ballistics Calculator to give him his drop at 400 yards. The steel plate is a 12"x12" and I told him to go for it and he figured out on his own where to aim and on his second shot he nailed . Pretty big smile from both of of us. Oh yeah!! I had to try with the same gun and it took me 2 shots to hit it.
I'd say he's off to a great start, And what a great caliber for all to shoot.
