hard to advise when you haven't said how big, car or back pack, where, temps, and all that stuff. Just to start though, I use a Eureka Timberline Outfitter 6, and that's just for me.

I have a 10x12 Kodiak which is a knock-off from Springbar. Best tent I have owned. It's easy to set up and has room for two or three people. I fit two cots, folding table, two chairs plus all of my hunting gear in it. I've used it in cold and snow on week long hunts. It's easily heated with a propane heater.

Take a good look at Kelty's Trail Ridge series. We have the 6 which is 8x10. Their poles are designed for more interior head room. The 2 main poles have bent sections plus they have a couple extra bars over the top that hold the sides out farther giving lots of extra head room. You can stand upright much farther away from the center.

I'm partial to a 4 season Eureka but my camping is pretty basic. I don't have to carry it on a backpack or have it withstand hurricane force winds, so I just want a solid floor, thick easy to use zippers and a pole system designed so that I can put the tent up in the dark by myself.
I don't think I can stand up in mine though. I don't think its over 5' tall

then one of the Eureka tents like mine would be perfect. Mine has withstood high winds, driving rain, and cold weather. Plenty of room inside for all your gear. I use a Cabelas cot with a thick foam mattress. No reason to be uncomfortable when car camping.

I like canvas.
Probably should go with a Springbar IMO.

What is the price range envisioned? What seasons for use, and where geographically?

Price is not a problem. rain leaks. no spare parts are.
I'm shying away from canvas as they want it put away totally dry,''
even here in New Mexico that is tough some times
I am thinking about the Agnes diamond 6 models

Are you worried at all about, or do you camp in, cold weather?

Where to get a quality one? Thanks If you were happy enough with your Coleman to wear it out, I'd just go get another one.

Just to start though, I use a Eureka Timberline Outfitter 6, and that's just for me. That's the one's I have used for the past 25 years. I'm on my second one, only because I left the first set up to dry and the dogs ate it. Of course, the granola eaters will be along to tell you it's a piece of crap...

I had this issue last month and after alot of research decided on a Seek Outside 8 man tipi. You can easily heat them and tipis are about as windproof as it gets. The eight man has plenty of standing room and only weighs about ten pounds.
