Basically looking for the utmost in accuracy for P dogs and coyotes. Would really like to use the A-max's? What's the longest you can use without turning it into a single shot? Good luck, Troy

I can shoot the 77 gr HP's out of mine and it's a colt H Bar 1/9. Oh and they are loaded to mag length.

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

I have the BM Varminter (24 inch tube, chrome moly). Very reliable and accurate. I also have a BM 16 inch V-Match (chromed tube). Both are 1:9's

I wanted a personal defense load for my 16 so I bought both the BH's 68 and 75 gr. Match HP's to try out. I needed/wanted to see which one grouped best and if they would both stabilize with the 1:9 twist. I had heard and read many reports of 75 grainers not stabilizing with this twist and a few others that had no problems.

My 16 didn't like the 75's at all, but really grouped well with the 68's. Essentially the same results with the Varminter.

I would suggest buying a few boxes of different weight offerings and see what your AR likes. It really takes very little time to sort this out and is relatively inexpensive this way as well. I would try the 77's as Blammer mentioned because that weight is an option as well. There's only one way to know.....shoot em'. The results will be pretty evident I suspect. When you have your answer (the heaviest bullet your AR digests and spits out accurately), you can then start rollin' your own if you're so inclined. But now you've got the weight issue solved. Most tests in life aren't nearly this much fun.

Good luck Troy.

69's generally are the heaviest for a 1:9 or so I'm told for mine.

I've also be told some 1:9's shoot 80 grains very nicely.

Have run 75 amax at mag length and some good shooting around .5 to .7 moa at 300 yards for 10 shot groups. Ugly loads but did work well.

Not in a 9 twist. But thats not to say a 9 wont' work. Each barrel can be a bit different. Many 9s will stabilize 80s, many won't.

I don't know the heaviest you CAN shoot, but in my Colt, the 69 gr. Federal Gold Medal Match factory loads were awesome. I couldn't load a more accurate load, and I tried.

Black Hills remanufactured 68 bthp's shot well in my 24" Colt too, but so did their 40 & 50 grain Vmaxs. 55 FMJ's were around an inch to 1.25" but that was only half as good as the worst of the rest.

Mine shoots about 1.5" with 55 gr. bullets. I haven't tried much experimentation, however, since it shoots the 69 gr. bullets so well.

This is the best 5 round group I've ever shot with my AR, and one of the best ever groups. Typically, the 69 gr. FGMM will come in at 1/2" or thereabouts. The red dot is one inch, and the numbers are the numbers of the rounds I shot...I record each round in my littlel book.

I tried black hills remanufact. blue boxes with 55, 60, and 69 grains and the 60's shot the best.

For Pdogs I'd go 60's for yotes 69's.
