That's it, I'm going to Idaho! Awesome pics, Scotty!!
I thought blued/wood rifles don't work in wet weather or snow...? lol.
Eric Eric, they work just fine and I would have likely continued to run mine with wood but the stock was split pretty badly and I wanted a quicker fix than finding another wood stock.. .338 and Bitterroot's Whitebird, that picture is about as cool as it gets! Awesome stuff right there. What weight BBC was it you took the bear with.. What a bear! That is a picture of my dad... he shot the bear. 250 gr. Bitterroots. Recovered 2 of them from the bear. One is 247 gr. and the other is 246.5 gr.

30 Govt' 06 - Carbine 20" bbl, stocked by Al Beison. Barrel date 1936, Ser# 2--- Buck on left was shot with one shot at 425yds.. The gun is a hunter, and was my uncle's, then my Dad's, and now to be passed on by me to my Grandson. This gun has a soul...

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I'm hoping to add a few more after deer and elk season ..Until then, I'll just post target pics. I really need to dial in a new load for the 30-06 fwt. I'll shoot it tomorrow and post the results in my bedding thread..
