All of these belonged to my great grandmother and got refurbished in the above manner.


This is my favorite. Never sold as a pan. It's an eye cover for a stove made by the King Stove AND RANGE COMPANY.

Those are awesome. Is there a lot of difference in quality between manufacturers? I have been buying Lodge cast iron, but I wonder what else is easily available?

I have been to a Lodge outlet store in Tenn, and they sell "seconds" at a good price reduction, although I did not purchase any at the time.

Absolutely, I don't think there is any new cast iron worth a dollar...

Check that link I posted earlier, I personally prefer Griswold.

Griswold and Wagner ware are the main vintage cast iron and there's alot out there, it lasts forever.

Griswold costs more but for cooking they are both very good, most of my stuff is wagner and I have a bunch.

Thrift stores occasionally have someone donate them, garage sales, estate sales, you can get some cheap. Ebay and other auction sites have a bunch but you will pay top dollar.

I like cooking on a hundred year old pan, and wondering where it's been and who it's served.
