I tried this in the shotgun forums but I think I offended everyone that only wants to talk about Perazzis and Krieghoffs

Who currently makes a semi auto or possibly pump that is drilled and tapped for scope mounting? Preferably with a 3 1/2" chamber. Will be for varmint calling so a turkey length barrel is preferred.

The newer Mossbergs are D&T'd. Not sure of anyone else offhand.

Got one on my smooth bore. With the right slugs, (Brenneke) you would be surprised at the accuracy out to about 60 yards. Read the reviews:

If you want to go cheap, look at the little Mossberg 500 Bantams. They're D&T'd. Slip on a $15.00 boot-style recoil pad to stretch the stock out a bit and you're good to go.

Yep 835 does fo sho. Some benelli M2 models do, I think. Just about any "turkey" model shotgun will be drilled and tapped.

I have a Nova and it is NOT scope ready and with the skeletonized chassis I don't think it will hold scope base screws. I have drilled and tapped a few of the recoil guns that Benelli bought out- the name escapes me right now but we are looking for one to raffle off in the club and I don't want to modify this one. Don't need to go real cheap but I don't think we can afford a SBE either.

Benelli SBEII , just pop out the plastic fillers. Or better yet go with the burris speed dot and shem kit mount , cats ass for turkeys and deer.

Yeh, I would love to do it with a SBE but the club can't sell enough tickets in one night to cover it. Gonna have to be more reasonable.

Burris makes their Speed Bead with a mount that fits between the stock and receiver. The list of mounts is pretty extensive and you don't have to modify or drill the shotgun at all. Not sure if this might fit your needs or not.

The mossberg Turkey models Re all D&t'd. The ones with the "m-4 style" adjustable stock are the cats azz for sitting position hunting.

I have one of the 835s so equipped, and also outfitted with a Tru Glo Gobble stopper, with the short 20 inch BBl I couldn't ask for a better turkey set up. Come late summer I change tubes and put in a Hevishot dead coyote, and load it with #4 buck. Out to 30 yards the zero still hods POA enough to smack a fox

I put a Holosight on my 870 Supermag using a Leupold side mount that uses the pin holes in the receiver. Solid and worked good enough to drop 'em past 60 yards with Heavy Shot.

I will have to look at the Speed bead list to see what what ones it will fit. I won't work on my Nova because it doesn't come apart.

Try Remington.
You will have to re-learn to shoot with a scope on a shotgun.

On stationary targets i can shoot a shotgun and hit what i am aiming at... however on moving targets that is a learning curve, as the normal eye to barrel relationship is changed with a scope.

Remingtons are all well over a grand unless you get a pump. I don't think shooting coyotes with a red dot will be much of a learning curve over fiber optic open sights. Most of the time they are stopped when you shoot anyway.

I was in Sportsman's whorehouse a couple of days ago and got some serious sticker shock. Dead Coyote is now $59.99 a box. That's $6 a pop! Better not miss!!!

Bud of mine runs an Aimpoint on an FN tactical 12 gauge and knocks the crap outta deer every year with his using slugs, some have been reliably hit out to 125 yards.
