While I do like the 2.5-8x, I like the 3.5-10x lots more.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Yeah..........if I had a long action to scope, I'd probably look elsewhere as well. The short action .308Win Browning A-Bolt this is going on obviously gives more latitude in mounting options. In that regard, nearly all of the reviewers seem to praise it, as one of the best lightweight variable scope options for short action rifles.

All fine examples fellas, keep them rolling in!
I've seen several here with Talley's, but few saying what ring height is used. Anyone have the Lightweights in X-Low configuration with this scope? Been researching, and that's the mounting system I'm looking at using, instead of the weaver rings & bases it currently has. Really like the integrated/minimalist design. I have a 2.5-8x36mm mounted on a SA700 Youth with the X-lows. No clearance issues with the power ring or otherwise, but there's not much clearance between the eyepiece and the bolt knob when operated. Butler Creeks caps would be out, but it works fine with the Alumina's. Not sure how that might factor in on the A-Bolt.

A-Bolts have a short 60 throw, so definitely more clearance than a Rem M700. How much room you have between the barrel and the front objective bell on that rig?

John, here's a couple on Kimber 84M's with Talley lows. I like them on short action rifles. Sold and traded a couple 2-7's several years ago and replaced them with the VX3's.

Uber sexy.
It looks like the ocular is shorter on the bottom rifle(shorter objective as well?) and I thought maybe it was a VX III but both boxes say VX3 so who knows.
FWIW, top rifle has a newer VX3.

John, Here's a few pictures of X-Low's on a SA700. The bases do limit you some with positioning due to objective bell and power ring clearances, but they work fine for me. No problem at all with barrel clearance.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
