I'd appreciate input about the M695 from current and former owners. I'm looking at one that's the stainless and laminated version. It's in extra clean condition. I have no idea how to value it because prices on GB, etc. are all over the place.

I have the ss / syn in .30-06. there is just under 1100 rounds down the tube, and these are my thoughts
the good;
1.great trigger out of the box 2.i've only tried 8 different loads and the average is just barely over an inch. about .7" if you take the best 6 3.for what it's worth, the barrel fouls less than any other barrel i shoot.
the bad; 1.It's heavy in my opinion. 8lbs 11oz with a 16 oz scope. the laminate is even heavier if i remember correctly. 2.this won't apply to the rifle your looking at, but the synthetic stock on mine is a flimsy piece of junk.
over all, a good rifle that i loaned to several friends without any problems. despite shooting very well, i find i don't hunt with it often because i tend to choose a rifle that weighs less when i head to the woods. i keep telling myself that i'm going to get rid of it to fund a .223 montana, but haven't done so yet.
good luck with what decision you make.

I've got 2 595's (SYN) and IMO the 595/695 are better than the T'3 . the biggest thing I dislike about them is the 3 round plastic clips.

They are a tad heavy but the action and trigger are great and the accuracy is very good. Magazines on mine have polymer (plastic) bottom but the box is metal. Much better than the crappy magazines on the T3's. I would not hesitate if I found another in a caliber I wanted.

Thanks for your responses guys. Appreciate it. One more question: is the 695 Laminated/stainless chunky enough that you'd use something else for carrying in the mountains?
