They look like overpriced LL bean's from the pictures, what makes them better?
Not trying to be funny just trying to see the $300 difference.
Mike MUCH better ankle support, built tough. Seems 99% of Bean boots come with those soles that are great for walking on carpet, but not much else. Yep ^^^^ I have an old pair of Bean Boots. They're comfy like house slippers and just get better with age. Great for mowing the yard, perfect for fishing in the canoe, but if there's even the slightest chance of stepping in snow or mud I wear something else. I'd never wear em on a serious hunt/hike. Not so sure they were designed for snow or mud. One would think the decks of lobster and fishing boats were the intended use .

I've got a pair of 13" hunters (I think). They're the best boot for hunting in the muck and snow I've ever had.

Got a set of Meindl's for cold weather don't know how well they would work in steep stuff, may have to look further into Schnees in the future.

Extremes are too bulky for any kind of walking imo.

I have a pair of the hunter II's and they are great...my pair of Guides, basically an LL Bean boot on steroids, are the most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn. Horrible!
I'll stick with the Hunter II's for cold weather stuff and let the Guides sit in the back of the closet I suppose.

I've got a pair of the Wilderness model I bought in 2011. I wore them on a scouting trip that October, on a hunting trip the next October and casually around town a few times a month until about 6 months ago. The seam between the leather outer and the inside lining is coming apart. Can't say I am exactly happy with a $330 pair of boots coming apart after only 3 years when I have far less expensive shoes that have seen greater use that have held up better.
That being said, it looks like my situation is more the exception than the rule.
