I bought a zip lock bag of 95gr btips and have no idea how old they are. Iirc they were beefed up at some point. Can anyone post a cross section of an old one and a new one? Or if you don't have any old ones, just a picture of a new one will do. I can compare it to mine then. I'm sure both versions work but if I have the newer version I can give them a bit more gas. Thanks

From what Dogzapper has stated on the fire, the 6mm 95gr was beefy at its introduction.
I probably hit more elk with a pickup than you have with a rifle. I have yet to see anyone claim Leupold has never had to fix an optic. I know I have sent a few back. 2 MK 6s, a VX-6, and 3 VX-111s.

If you bought them in a plastic bag then they're probably factory seconds.

Never have I had a problem shooting seconds on paper or game. Nosler's quality control is strict and seconds many times have no visible defect. I've weighed hundreds of seconds on they've always been right on spec.

I have several hundred Nosler 2nd's in 6.5mm, 140gr.hpbt match bullets that vary considerably in the ogive and metplat, no consistency! So much for cosmetic blemish's. I call B.S.

Don't speculate when you don't know, and don't second guess when you do.

Nosler factory seconds are excellent bullets and fully equal to the "firsts."
Frankly, I have never seen an external blemish or badly assembled bullet in Nosler's seconds. What I HAVE seen is that the bullet weight may be a grain or so heavier or lighter than the target weight ... thus, the lot is declared seconds. But, the weight will be consistent within the lot and the individual bag of bullets.
Don't ask me how I know, but whenever Nosler is out-of-stock in a bullet that is requested by a gun writer, they will ship bags of seconds to the writer. If the seconds were inaccurate or inferior in any way, Nosler simply would not do that.
