I happen to have an old AL MAR fixed blade knife that I bought in the mid 80's to replace my issue K-BAR.

What little I can find is it's a SERE Model 3005.6 made by Seki in Japan. It has a Micarta handle and the original leather sheath did not hold up to the "marine" environment nor the lovely weather of central America, Al Mar replaced it with a ballistic nylon sheath w/ a heavy plastic insert that keeps the blade from cutting the nylon. I still have the sharpening stone that came with the knife and sheath.

Any information is greatly appreciated.
