That IS, btw, also pretty funny right there. Thank you for the chuckle.
FWIW, my life right now looks a lot like a coma. So, your wish for me is pretty close to reality. That is going to change, however, with Gods help and that of my family and friends both here and otherwise.

59 is pretty much the top age to be considered for a donor. The idea is to have a kidney that will last the rest of your life. Younger and healthier is obviously best.

I hope it all goes well for you, Mark. As you are probably aware, even if you get a well-matched donor it's not gonna be a bed of roses. Keep your chin up and try to live each day to its fullest.

That is very good news, Mark! Prayers continue from here.

What happened to your kidneys? I haven't kept up with what's been going on with you and am curious about why your kidneys went south? Was it a wreck, genetics, exposure to some chemical or an unknown malady that the docs haven't nailed down? No biggie if you don't want to share what happened,it's really none of my business. I wish you well.

No worries, it is a genetic condition called Polycystic Kidney Disease. My kidneys look like two big bags full of rocks right now, and work about as well, too.
This disease killed my great grandfather at age 49 and my grandfather at 54. I am 54 so it all makes sense. Without modern medicine the side effects and symptoms of this disease - like my heart attack - would have already killed me before now.
Doc Rocket, Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. I know that I, along with my precious wife and other family members who have offered to help us out, have a tough and long road to my eventual transplant and then a very long and arduous recovery. That said, The idea of feeling mostly normal again and having a little bit of energy and strength back plus maybe being able to work again are pretty exciting thoughts for me. I will need to dwell on those things during the difficult times to come. The warm wishes, thoughts and especially the prayers from folks here are also not small things to me. Not at all.

If you PM me your address, a donor info card with where to call and how to take the first steps toward being a possible donor will be on its way to you my friend. I am not being picky right now! Thank you SO much!
Move to England. They'll get you a couple of good kidneys right quick.
I do not have a flash player that will allow me to see your link. I am still learning to use my new to me Linux operating system. So, no comprende'
