Thanks, Don. Got an SRC with the wrong buttplate, but the SRC buttstock is original and not cut and not made for an SRC buttplate. Has a 1915 250-3000 buttplate on it. Figure it must have been a HRB originally that broke. I can't make it right, but I can put it closer to original.

Rory,
The plate Don recommended works well. I've got an original that I bought from Savageparts back in the day and have compared it to the ones from Vintage and you can't really tell the difference.

Some of the saddle ring carbines had a plain smooth steel shotgun style buttplate, but a hard rubber one would work.

My first thought was it probably had a metal shotgun style plate like the SRC's, but a metal buttplate wouldn't be too likely to have been replaced with the buttstock being in good condition. So a HRB for the fun of it.
