Great to hear from someone who is on the other side of this issue. I am very glad to hear that things get better after just a couple of days. With me, I have to have my Kidney function, medicines tolerance, and overall health checked three times a week at THAT hospital far from home and I have to stay nearby it for 4-6 weeks, depending.
On the bright side, I know two local people here in WW who have undergone a Kidney Transplant and both have a brand new lease on life. I am so anxious what s to find out what my new 'normal' is going to look and feel like. One of my side effects of the disease is itchy skin due to the skin trying to function and repair ittself with poisoned blood. Last night I scratched myself to the point of bleeding in several places. Totally not fun.
I am glad that you found a donor in time. We just lost a members wife - who was a VERY sweet lady and full of life. She was lost to us because no suitable liver donor could be found in time.
+1 on blessings to the donor and his or her family.

Hang tough, Mark. I'll be praying for both of you.
The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.

It did get better. But the first two days in ICU were rough. Once out and into a room, it was no so bad. About like any other hospital stay!
On day 7 I moved to an on campus apartment complex. Then it really got better fast.
You will do well.
