Just scored a Montana in .260 Rem and need some Talley Lightweight. Looking at their list they have 84m and 84m (current production). I'm assuming that since they haven't made the Montana in .260 Rem for a few years that I'm not looking for the ones marked "current production"? Correct?

That's new to me. Could it be different screws? I think older kimbers had different base screws but I really don't know. Somebody will chime in tomorrow with help I'm sure.

Early Kimber 84s were tapped for 6-48s, newer ones for 8-40s. I BELIEVE I have that correct. I'm not sure when the change occurred.

BC, Congrats on the 260 Montana! I purchased one here on the fire last year and I too wondered about the screws. I had picked up a Classic in 260 a couple of years earlier and it has the old 2 position safety and the 6x48 screws. It was made in 2004. My Montana 260 has the 3 position safety and uses the 8x40 screws. It was made in 2006. I don't know when the switch was actually made, but to be sure I would contact Kimber Customer Service. (1-888-243-4522 if that works in Canada). They were very helpful and told me year of mfr, screw size, etc. (Is this your first 260? Both of mine like the Nosler 110gr Accubond.)DISREGARD! See below. Let us know what you find out and what scope you mount and pics never hurt.

My experience was the same as sevenheaven.
Don't know if the change occurred simultainously.
Good luck with it.
I did not know they make a 264 110NAB. That would be about perfect IMO , I'll have to check them out.

There is no accounting for taste.
Experience is a great thing as long as one survives it.
Generally, there ain't a lot that separates the two however, Barely making it is a whole lot more satisfying than barely not making it.

OK, I've been caught in a senior moment. The 110 Accubond load is what I use in my 257 Roberts Kimbers. I run 120 Nosler BTs in the 260s. Maybe I've got too many toys for my old brain to handle?? Thanks for being kind with your correction AJD!
