A group of guys I shoot with met for a Milsurp Shoot. Big fun and we all get to shoot lots of interesting stuff. This young man had a very nice 1953 Model 94 and was getting into milsurps and vintage guns. He is 30 years old and looked 16. Very polite man and really got a kick out of firing my Harvester M1. He is medically retiring with a very bad back. He was a Blackhawk crew chief and was injured in a hard landing after they took an RPG hit in Afghanistan. Hearing his story and what leads him to retire was both inspirational and sad. I feel like a feather merchant in the presence of these combat veterans since I never served. I'm going to break out the IMR 4895 and put a couple hundred rounds together for the next shoot in December if I can't get ahold of him before then. God bless these young men and women.

It is always a humbling experience to meet military vets such as those who have had an experience such as his to put things in to perspective in life.
