I am thinking of trying these bullets for a little flatter trajectory and also possibly some lower recoil loads. How do they perform on deer at 308 velocities?

I have and do in my son's .308. I am loading them both at 50grs of Varget for 3125 fps. Very accurate and they shoot to the same POI for me. No deer but his antelope was just shy of 300 yards and dropped in his tracks.
Good Shooting!

Fwiw...I don't have a good pic but a while back I sectioned a 125 ab. About half way down the jacket got real thick and there was alot of copper base to the bullet. Not thinking I'd want to run it at 3500 fps out of a win mag....but think it would be great in a 308 at 3000 and under impact.

I shot a 195# SC buck with the 125NBT @200yds he ran less than 75yds and fell. Complete pass thru both lungs. Also several does all 1 shot kills from 75 to 200yds. Handloaded over 46grn of Varget.

I have killed deer with the 125gr Ballistic Tip. One again this year. Very effective Even at high Impact velocity, 50yrds with a 3100fps muzzle velocity the bullet Acted perfectly as designed and exited the offside. Broke 2 ribs on entry and 3 on exit, an angling shot that shredded the liver and rear of both lungs. Tougher bullet than most 150gr C&C bullets. Works extremely well in scoped 300 savage at 3000fps also.

I load the BT's in my 300 BLK, and have been happy with them so far <100 yards on hogs, deer, coyotes in TX.
I'm shooting them around ~2100 fps MV.

I bought my son a Kimber Montanna in the day after he was born 9 years ago.I had him using a .243 since he was seven but he insisted that he wanted to use the .308.I worked up a load with 42.5gr of IMR3031 and a 125 bt.Accuracy was under an inch and the recoil didn't bother him at all.I let him shoot about 150 rounds at different ranged but loaded some 125 accubonds to hunt with.He ended up killing two doe with that load. The first one was hit a little far back in the liver at 207 yards. The deer ran less than 100 yards and laid down.We went back a few hours later and found here right where she stopped. The bullet passed through and did a lot of damage. Two days later,he shot another big doe at around 90 yards. He hit that one high in the shoulder, breaking the spine and exiting the opposite shoulder blade, leaving a silver dollar sized exit wound under the skin.So far,I'm impressed with the terminal performance, accuracy and low level of recoil with that load, although two dead deer isn't conclusive.
