When I owned the pawn shop I uses both, seafoam appeared to work best so that is way I switched to. Been using it for the past six years at home and works great.

I thought Sta-bil was supposed to prevent the usage of Sea-Foam
and Sea-Foam was used if you didn't store it with Sta-bil.
at least that's always been my approach.

PR-G is supposed to be "better", but I imagine they all are pretty much the same

Always could be wrong, but looks to me like Sta-Bil simply floats on the surface of the fuel - I would suppose to seal out air. If that is correct, the Seafoam does different things in different ways. The PR-G has worked well here for stored stuff.

I use both. Seafoam is too expensive (oz. per gallon) to treat the 175 gallons of gas my boat holds.

I think Sta-bil is made of mineral oil and naphtha whereas Seafoam is is made of toluene. I use Sta-bil for storage and Berryman(like Seafoam) to clean injections/engine.

Seafoam is best for me. I use it in all my small engines yeararound.

I've had good luck with Sea-Foam and Pri-G.
A lot of Coleman lantern collectors add a little Sea Foam in a tank of Fuel and they say it helps keep the generators cleaner and last longer.
I've been adding some in my lanterns and stoves and it seems to help a little.

I have only used Sta-Bil and have no reason to change.
The greatest testament I have to the power of Sta-Bil is my $80.00 Weedeater. Yes, the POS they sell at Wal-Mart.

Stabil for storage.
Seafoam for running. Yep Stabil is a great product but when you look at mix ratio and price it is a bit costly but that doesn't matter if your treating less than say 50 gallons per year. Hey Paul Harvey said so. Stabil Marine for phase separation is also a very good product same cost factors though Startron for both (different mix ratios for storage and in season) for phase separation, but not valve job in a can (as motor treatments claim) I can tell you one needs to keep in in perspective, no you didn't get 80% better fuel ecomomy, no your engine has not been remaned etc For same as Seafoam but a bit less expensive CRC motor treatment works well Hank

Same here. I used Sta-bil in my boat motor and in my snowmachines and never had problems or had the inkling to try anything else. I had to use Seafoam in my 4 whlr when the carb got gooped up from not storing it with Sta-bil. FWIW, Techron works equally well as fuel system cleaner.

I've used Sta-bil Storage for over 10 years with no issues. Recently stored a generator for my cousin for 3 full years while they were out of the country, he told me the generator was "winterized" so I left it alone. Turns out his process was to fill the tank with fuel containing a double dose of Sat-bil Storage (4oz/5gal)and run it for 5 minutes then top off the tank. It started on the second pull and ran fine. No experience with other brands

Sta-Bil to keep fuel right in my boat, Harley, generators and Seafoam for carburetors, injectors, etc. Techron also works good for this.

Seafoam is better than Stabil but if you want really good try Ethanol Shield, I discovered ES by accident and have used it for years now.
1oz to 5 gallons.

I'm just about to prep my snowblower for use. I have always run it till stoppage and left it completely empty over the summer with no issues. I'm 180 out of phase on the storage/seasonal prep cycle here, but thanks for the thread.

I use both. Seafoam is too expensive (oz. per gallon) to treat the 175 gallons of gas my boat holds. Seafoam is an expensive product, and its primary function a cleaner/decarbonizer, although it does work adequately as a stabilizer (for up to a year). Startron is a great product as a stabilizer/fuel storage additive, especially for ethanol, but also costs arm/leg. Gold Eagle (Stabil's mfg) makes a great fogging oil for engine storage. Their gas stabilizers, including the new ones, are average at best. I've had fuels stored in boat and farm tanks for greater than a year with Sta-bil that wound up having to be drained. The fuel smelled like varnish and had absorbed moisture. I'd use stabilizers sold by Bombardier, Merc Marine, Yamaha, etc, before I'd touch Sta-Bil again. Buy yourself some Pri-G (or their Pri-D for diesel). I mentioned this stuff on a similar thread here not long after I joined this site. It's the only stabilizer/storage stuff that can actually bring back bad gas to a usable state, can keep gas for well over a year, and isn't overly expensive. A quart costs about a dollar/oz, and a quart will treat 256 gallons of gasoline. I buy non-ethanol mid-grade gasoline from my Co-op for my farm tanks, and Pri-G goes in prior to every delivery. I use their Pri-D in my diesel farm tank as well. It's great stuff for gas, ethanol, or diesel, and I strongly recommend it. http://www.batterystuff.com/fuel-treatments/PRIG32oz.html
