I know this is really early but I'm looking for advice. My son and I have talked about an elk hunting trip for his 13th birthday for several years.next season he turns 13 and I would like it to be kind of a right of passage experience. He wants a drop camp. It would be great to get an elk but if we can find a place where we can see some I think it would be success. Any help on finding a game management unit or affordable outfitter would be greatly appreciated. We've been planning on Colorado but have to fly so other places are options as well. We can hunt with archery equipment or modern gun thanks. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Need to book ASAP though. She is probably still up at base camp pulling camps out after third season, but has satellite hook up to internet for email. Very Affordable, good camps, biggest elk herd in CO, exceptional staff. Nicest lady you will ever want to meet. You won't be disappointed I guarantee.

I hunted with these guys 2 years ago. Didn't get an elk, but we had a great time and their camps were well equipped. They bent over backwards to make our week a good one.

I have hunted with Bill 5 times and killed 6 elk. His drop camp is in an area where you will see elk and have a very good chance of killing one if you can hike to a saddle that always produces in a week long hunt.
