There's been lots of photo threads for other favorites. How about a Browning Single Shot photo thread for those that enjoy them? Heck, post your Winchesters too High Walls / Low Walls, post em up! My one and only ( so far ). Low Wall .260.

My 1885 High Wall (mentioned elsewhere) in 6.5x55mm: And the gory details, which includes a visit from Larry Root !
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum. I do tend to fit in well wherever I go in person. The campfire is the most outside exposure I get. No TV, no newspaper.

A original High Wall, circa 1900, that was rebarreled by someone, and turned into a real thumper of a .45-90 carbine My first 2 deer fell to a Browning B78 in .25-06. I still own that rifle and really ought to take it out again one of these days. I don't have any photos of it I had a Browning Low Wall in .22 Hornet; it was a neat rifle and a good shooter. I'd love to find one of the .260's, or a 6.5x55. But I think I might grab a .223 and have someone rebore & rechamber to .30-30.

Sorry, no dead animals, but a pretty 45-70 Govt.
If there is any proof of a man in a hunt it is not whether he killed a deer but how he hunted it.

Here you go. I no longer kill stuff, but these rifles are hell on targets. Steel out to 1540 yards, bone stock Browning .45-70 no less. Oh yeah, that's with iron sights and my 75 y/o eyes. Lower rifle is a .22 rf, Lilja barrel. Paul

My one and only (but not last), a Winchester in 22 Hornet Another Low Wall is on my bucket list for varminting... but a .223, so I can tailor loads from Hornet levels, to "stunt " shooting an occasional deer....

223 makes a lot more sense, but I like odd ball stuff that it's hard to find brass for. . Maybe I should turn it into a 225 Winchester.

Those are cool little guns that are just right for a lot of varminting tasks One guy in Oregon had his chamber opened up for the K-Hornet version. I'm not sure he gained much, but it is a cool looking case.

.260 Very nice! As I understand it, only about 280 some .260's were produced...? There appears to be four, by my count owned by 24HR Campfire members!

I've never heard an exact number but it couldn't have been many. I remember an ad in the Gun List somewhere around '98 advertising the limited run. Mine came along in 2005. I'm sorry to say I have not hunted with it much and have yet to point it at a deer. There's still time though. I need to confirm the zero. It shoots like a bench gun with factory Remington 120 Accutip.
