Does anyone have knowledge about centerfire rifles sold by Ithica?
A friend has found one for sale in 30-06 and asked If I knew anything about them. An internet search mentioned various LSA models 55 and 65 which may have been made in either the 60's or 70's. The LSA designation suggests to me they might have been manufactured by Husquavarna if memory serves me correctly.
Any comments or information will be helpful and appreciated.

My brother inherited one - sans magazine. Took me nearly 2 years to find one for him, and was lucky at that! I haven't done any research on the rifle, but can verify they are quality firearms.

The ones that I have seen were Sako actions, but may have been made by Husqvarna. Nice rifles, but they all had the Weatherby-influenced stocks high cheek pieces, square fore ends and skip-line checkering.

You are right. The 55 & 65 were indeed made by Tikka. Great rifles.

LSA= (L)IGHT...(S)TRONG...(A)CCURATE. They came in standard and deluxe wood(with rosewood tip)... Great guns...Solid Sako actions...Skip-line checkering with palm-swell grip.. If you ever run across one...BUY IT!!

Those Ithaca branded Tikka's were from a time when Tikka was an entirely separate, and independent company. They had no connection to Sako at the time.

Thanks everyone for your help. A friend has located one in an original box in 30-06 and didn't know whether to follow up on it. I haven't seen it so can not comment on condition, etc.

My first new off the rack rifle was a Ithaca LSA-55 in 243 win. Very lite and extremely accurate.
Got it in 1975 iirc.
I liked it so much that the next one l got was the Tikka m-65 in 7mm Rem mag.

I had a buddy that had a LSA-55 in 30-06 and I got to shoot it a few times. When he died I offered to buy it from his widow and I remember my wife gettin mad at me. Apparently the recieving line at the funeral she didn't feel was the place to make the offer.
