I, too, was pleasantly surprised with how my 358 shot this year. I'd love to see a photo or two of your customs.

This is the 358w. Its a Interarms Mark X with a douglas xx barrel@ 23inches. Its got a "ghetto" bedding job done by me in a remington 798 tupperware stock that I bedded myself. Bedding is Jbweld. this is a model 700, 24" pac nor super match barrel, trued up, Vias break, Lonewolf stock, factory trigger @ 2.5lbs. Alu bolt shroud, this is an older picture, it wears a vx3 still but with black leupold x-low rings and a Cds dial. The groups above were shot with factory ammo, (federal fusion) does the same thing with 160gr NABs, and 168gr bergers.

the 358w uses 41g 4198 and a 200g hornady interlock SP. its not super fast, about 2530 avg, but i have no problem head shooting a deer at 150 yards with it if need be lol. It was the 1st load i put together for it, not a hotrod, but it shot so well i stopped messing with it. Gun regularly shoots in the .6s with that load.

Im thinking maybe monday will be the day, sat and sunday are suppose to be a little bit warmer. monday snow is supposed to be cold with snow moving in. The little 10 acre corn field got bought from the farmer and chopped and left for the deer... they're pounding it right now

A target like that says quit messing around and let's go hunting. Hope you get your buck, .358 and .35 Whelen are two of my favorite deer cartridges.

Coop, Best bring your rain gear unless you're going to be guarding the hut again.

Yeah when the Conetrols are done right...they are hard to beat. I never figured I would miss that gun but I did and do. I sold it to you for $50 less than I had in it...so yeah you got a good deal. Accurate ones are hard to get rid of but I had not shot it enough to realize it's capabilities. Is that rust on the bolt and extractor? powdr
