Will a standard 14 twisted 22-250 stabilize the Barnes 50TTSX bullet?

You may wish to Email or call Barns up and ask. I fear you are on the wrong side of the raggad edge with your 14 twist for the 50 grain ttsx per the data on their web page. See link below. Depending on your elevation you may luck out. sure would not count on it with a 14 twist if I were you. http://www.barnesbullets.com/products/components/rifle/tipped-tsx-bullet/Telephone Numbers (435) 856-1000 (800) 574-9200 Email Addresses For general inquiries: email barnesbullets.com

Yes, they list a 12 twist requirement, but I know that sometimes those rules can be pushed a bit.
Has anyone tried it yet?

I have had no trouble at all getting the 50 TTSX to fly out of a 1 in 14 in a .22-250 and also in a 1 in 12 223AI

How-about you go ahead and pick up a couple hundred bullets. Say they don't work out in the accuracy department from your current 14 twist. Then you will have a great excuse for a re-barrel. May I suggest a Black Nitride treated 3 groove 9 twist Pac Nor for the re-barrel Do you have a smith in mind?

You can use this link to tune your velocity and bullet for the twist rate of you gun. I agree with everybody so far. The only thing I would have a different opinion on would be going to a faster twist rate in a 22-250 for varmint hunting only. You would need to shoot heaver bullets and they are usually not as frangible as the lighter bullets and that does create a ricochet risk. My state allows deer hunting with 22cal center fire so if want the rifle to be dual purpose then use the formula link to figure the twist right for your purposes. I shoot the 55 gr Nightmare Varmint Extremes from Mid South Shooters Supply and they shoot under 1/2 at 200yds from my 1/14 Rem 700 and do exactly what they are called on Coyotes. Here is your link. http://kwk.us/twist.html
