Ran across a used trainer in a store the other day. A few scratches on the stock and bluing, missing front sight hood, bore looks great though. Plainjane beechwood stock. Having two little boys I can justify about anything hunting/gun wise and what's wrong with another 22 in the safe. Talked them down from 299 to 250 plus tax, but I still think that may be tad high for a used one..I don't believe these trainers sold for much more than that new back in the day. When buying used, I never want to spend more than I know I could get back out of it. Just curious what you think is a fair price. Thanks!

That doesn't sound unreasonable. Prices at Buds Gun Shop are about as low as they get and their new price was $346: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/31193The 452 youth rifle is still available at $293. You would have no trouble reselling it on the Campfire for $250!

Having one, know a good price new was $340 in 2009. It's a great little rifle and not made any more. $250 sounds like a good buy on a nice rifle for two boys to learn on. You understand, these sell used in good condition for "new" prices on some rimfire forums.

Dang - sounds like I need to go buy the one they have here locally. I believe it is new and is priced at $299. Another shop here had one last year at $289 (new) and I waited too long to move on it and have been kicking myself for not grabbing it...

Yeah those prices seem about right. I just picked up a 452 Scout for my daughter for $250 NIB which I thought was a good price. Those CZs are really a nice value.

And they shoot well, too.

I bought my 452 Special for $89 plus tax brand new from Gander Mountain in 2004...and I thank whoever messed up when they were pricing it every time I shoot it.

I've got two of the CZ trainers, don't need another... BUT if I saw one for $250 I would buy it like right now! Last one I saw was about 1 1/2 years ago at the LGS for $359. They shoot good, the trigger needs a little work which anyone that's a little handy can do.

Ended up getting it for 250 out the door. CZ had the front sight hoods for 5 bucks so went ahead and got one. Their shipping was fast! Found out the shop had lost the mag and had to buy another so they had more in it than I guess they needed to have. I was seeing some of the same prices others were mentioning under 300 for new ones and where they were selling for 225ish just several years ago so 250 was really as much as I was willing to have in it. Sounds like these things go up in value!

Get it. You can still get a replacement front sight hood from CZ if you really need one. If the bore is good you will have a great rifle. Load it with CCI-SV ammo and go at it.
