It was darn cold and snowy in north central NE this year. 8-10 inches of snow, -12 temps in the am and winds of 25 mph made for some tough hunting. We did connect on a couple of bucks however. [Linked Image][Linked Image]

Man, that's hard hunting. Good results in spite of it.

It was tough to think about the cold each morning. Luckily we have a couple of enclosed blinds to use, otherwise I probably would only have lasted a hour or two!

I'd sit out there naked in those temps if I knew the property I was hunting held the kind of deer your property does. blush

My son still has a unfilled tag and we had seen a larger buck in the same area the night before, so he will be going back tomorrow for another crack at it. At least the temps will be better!

Congrats Duckster on the great Nebraska Buck!

Opening Day my partner saw a small six that had broken off the off 1 side of the rack. Only buck seen but did not have a buck tag so it didn't matter anyhow. Hunting strictly does this season.

I connected on a doe on Sunday afternoon around 3:50p.m. near Lincoln, Nebraska. We got about 2-3 inches of snow and it was pretty cold especially with the wind. The deer were moving though after the snow ceased and I bet the morning time would have been great but roads were nasty.

I was at the processor in Ralston, Nebraska (Van Fleets)when a 14 year old boy who had only hunted for 2 years, brought in a beautiful 10 point buck that weighed 205lbs!

The father didn't even "gut" the deer just brought in in whole to the processor. People could hunt many years and not manage to see let alone shoot a buck like that.

Nice deer! You certainly earned them in that kind of weather, too. Wouldn't mind seeing some snow here for our season in two weeks, but sure don't need it to be that cold. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

It wasn't much better in the south central part of the state. I got my buck at about 8 AM opening morning and I almost couldn't where he was when I drove back up to dress and load him.
