Got my eye on a beater 22HP with a terrible bore. Is it possible/feasible to have it rebored to .25-35? My gut tells me money pit, but you all know how us gunheads think.

I would guess that a rebore on a takedown barrel should be as simple as they get. Both headspace on the rim so you've got that going for you too.
Just do it.

Yepper. I have a rotten .22HP barrel that is gonna get the .25-35 treatment some day. Or perhaps a 6mm HiPower wildcat. I like the idea of the 6mm for the great bullet selection, but am a bit leery though about how well the current crop of 6mm bullets will expand at such modest velocities.

Go for it.. and then keep an eye out on gunbroker/ebay for an original 22HP barrel of the right vintage/condition to replace the original. You'll have a 2 barrel set without screwing up the gun.
